There's a particular kind of quiet that only exists before sunrise — before notifications start, before the to-do list demands attention, before the world wakes up and starts asking things of you. That's when we gather.
Every Saturday at 5:00 AM, a group of us meet for what we call the Dawn Watch — an early prayer meeting held the morning before Sunday worship. It isn't mandatory, it isn't for show, and it isn't reserved for "super spiritual" people. It's simply a standing invitation to anyone who wants to seek God first, before anything else competes for that place.
Why Pray Before Dawn?
Scripture is full of people who met with God in the early hours — not because mornings are magic, but because it's often the one part of the day still uncluttered enough to actually listen.
“I rise before dawn and cry for help; I put my hope in your word.” — Psalm 119:147
We gather to pray for our church, our families, the needs whispered and shouted around us, and for the Sunday service that follows the next morning. It's unhurried, it's honest, and it's open to all — whether you've prayed out loud in a group before or never once.
